The Library Service is a small team aiming to offer a professional service to NHS Staff working for Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and students on placement here. In conjunction with the Library Service at Northampton General Hospital we also support staff working for Northampton Healthcare Foundation Trust.
Our vision is to “actively work together with the Trust to encourage and support a learning environment, which will benefit patient care through promotion of continued professional development and ensure clinical effectiveness.”
Our mission statement is:
The Library Service is committed to a partnership where knowledge resources, the needs of management, research, clinical skills, health professionals and students are united; so as to promote a quality patientfocussed service within the NHS that reflects evidenced-based health care. The library service will provide an effective and efficient information service, which is essential to meet these demands and to help improve the standards of health care.
The Service is supported and overseen by our General Library User Group which meets twice a year. The current chair of the group is Dr Harsha Bilolikar, Consultant Paediatrician. If you are interested in joining the group we would be very happy to welcome you – the involvement of our users helps us to provide a service tailored to your needs.
