Evidence Searches
Our staff are skilled in carrying out literature searches in support of research and patient care. We can help save you time and ensure you find the high-quality information you need. Your searches can be saved and sent regularly to update you.
This is a free service provided by KGH Knowledge and Library Services to support clinical practice, service development and research. You can have your search set up as an alert so that you will be emailed details of new publications on a weekly or monthly basis.
Keeping Up To Date
Evidence and current awareness updates can provide highly tailored, individual updates of newly published healthcare information in your areas of interest.
Personalised Evidence Updates
KnowledgeShare Evidence Updates is a personalised current awareness service allowing you to receive new evidence on topics tailored to your requirements. It covers policy documents and a range of summarised evidence, so you won’t be inundated with primary research articles.
Log-in using your OpenAthens details, go to your profile, select edit (the pencil symbol), and specify your areas of interest – you can be as broad or as detailed as you like – and how often you would like to be updated. You can amend these at any time by logging in. Your evidence update will be configured to ensure you only receive relevant, high-quality information.
If you’re not a library member, please register with the library by using the online form or filling out a registration form available in the library.
we also publish current awareness newsletters on a variety of topics on our bulletins page.
Requesting Articles and Borrowing Books from Other Libraries
Books, reports, journal articles, non-book media such as DVDs which are not held on local sites can be obtained from a network of health libraries and national collections.
Requesting Articles
Before requesting a journal article, please check whether it is available by searching on LibKey.io below. If the journal article is not available via LibKey.io or the discovery platform, you should contact us for assistance or complete an article request form.
Borrowing books from Other Libraries
Members of KGH Library have access to our own on-site collection of print books, as well as the 250,000 items in the HeLM (Health Libraries Midlands Collection). You can reserve any of these books directly via your library account, or via the request button below. You can also request books that are not held in HeLM using the request button below.
Please note, you must be a member of KGH Knowledge and Library Services to access this service. If you are not currently a member, you will be contacted and asked to join. Most items will be free, but if we have to go to British Library, there may be a charge on collection. If you need to speak to someone about your request, please contact us.
